Kimra made her first website during her ninth-grade typing class and has scarcely been offline since. A journalist by training, she's interested in the connections people make using media and technology. She thrives on learning what people love and hate about the world and figuring out how to use those findings to create better experiences.
Through in-depth interviews and a diary study, I conducted qualitative research into how television viewers juggle the myriad of options available for watching their favorite shows and isolated key factors influencing the TV-watching experience.
I led a team project analyzing Twitter posts during airings of the television show Glee and interviewing 20 "live-tweeters" about Twitter's effects on their viewing practices. A resulting poster and short paper will be published by CSCW '12.
I interviewed and shadowed a 20-something research participant and compiled findings relating to technology use, social influence, and leisure activities.
